Specialist Flooring Group is proud to be part of the £19m redevelopment project of Mercers’ Yard in Covent Garden, London. The ambitious project, managed by Hanover Cube, is led by the Wardens and Commonality of the Mystery of Mercers in the City of London. Our contribution involves the installation of 2500m2 of Isocrete K Screed, finished with Flowcoat SF41 resin flooring.
Phase 1 of the project has been completed successfully, paving the way for the commencement of Phase 2. The Mercers’ Yard project, designed by Ian Ritchie, includes the refurbishment of 13/14 Langley Street, a historic Covent Garden warehouse, which is being reimagined as a flagship retail store.
In addition to the refurbishment, the project comprises the construction of three new mixed-use blocks. These blocks will house retail and restaurant spaces at ground and basement levels, while the upper floors will be transformed into 24 apartments. These new residences offer potential inhabitants the chance to experience life in one of London’s most vibrant areas.
The design of the new blocks integrates a public space which provides pedestrian walkways, connecting Mercer Street and Langley Street via a new piazza. This development promises to enhance the already lively Covent Garden experience, echoing the rich 700-year history of the Mercers and their ongoing commitment to supporting education, arts & heritage, and the church.
As the project progresses, Specialist Flooring Group remains committed to delivering the highest quality bespoke flooring solutions, just as we did at the iconic Tate Modern Gallery. We look forward to playing our part in the transformation of this landmark Covent Garden location.
